The Department of Education of Guangdong Province has released its admission plan for colleges and universities. The admission plan for Guangdong University of Science and Technology (GUST) is 9,386, including 5,586 freshmen who have passed the National Entrance Examination for Universities in China and be admitted into GUST and 3,800 students who will take examinations later to be enrolled into GUST. There will be 35 undergraduate programs for candidates to choose from. And the admission plan covers 12 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions included). The admission plan for vocational college is 2,000 in 13 vocational programs, and candidates should come from Guangdong Province.
There are 2 campuses in GUST, namely Nancheng Campus and Songshan Lake Campus, with a total coverage of over 2,000 mu. GUST has a collection of over 3 million books and the total value of its teaching equipment has reached over 13 billion RMB. Since the Songshan Lake Campus has been put into use, GUST has enjoyed sound development, which increased the scale of its admission plan this year.
GUST opens three new undergraduate programs in Cross-boarder E-commerce, Economics and Finance and Communication Engineering. GUST was the first university of higher education that has been authorized by the government to recruit students in the program of Cross-border E-commerce, which shows GUST’s academic strength in this area.
GUST continues to cooperate with Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) from the U.K. in the “3+1” mutual credit recognition program of English, in which students recruited into the program will be demanded to complete the courses in English as well as part of the courses demanded by ARU in international business in the first three years in GUST and go to ARU in the U.K. to study professional courses in international business in the fourth year. Students in the program who have completed all demanded credits will be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from GUST as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from ARU. And the admission plan is 40 in 2020.
GUST, together with other colleges from Nanbo Group, will not charge students who will be enrolled and who are children of medical staff making a contribution to the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak in Wuhan Province the fees of tuition, accommodation and the textbooks to extend its respects to those heroes.
