Guangdong University of Science and Technology (GUST) held the second phase of the Theory Learning Group meeting within the party as well as a training meeting for middle-level cadres through online video broadcast on the morning of April 24. More than 80 people attended the online meeting, including all leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC) of GUST, middle-level cadres, assistants from various colleges of GUST as well as secretaries of the CPC in all levels of GUST. And the meeting was presided over by the Executive Vice President Zhou Er’yong.
Wu Nianxiang, Secretary of the Part Committee of GUST, delivered a speech at the meeting, in which she emphasized that all grass-roots party committees must seriously organize, learn and implement the spirit of relevant meetings, and formulate a theoretical study plan for the whole year to help the university to carry out all tasks in an orderly manner.
GUST’s Vice President Chen Biaoxin made an introduction about the prevention and control work of the COVID-19 epidemic since the outbreak of the coronavirus, fully affirmed the hard work made by relevant colleges and departments in the prevention and control of the virus, and put forward requirements for the next stage of epidemic prevention and control work from seven aspects.
GUST’s President Liang Ruixiong delivered a speech, in which he summarized the overall work of GUST since the start of this term, explained the five systems and plans including the "Meeting Planning Plan of GUST" which was recently issued by the university, and required all colleges as well as departments to do their best to complete the work of this semester and keep doing the prevention and control work of the COVID-19 epidemic.
GUST's Executive Vice President Zhou Er’yong make an introduction of the university's overall ideas of students’ returning to school, and deployed related work such as the distribution of students’ textbooks, online teaching, online oral defense of graduates, online examinations for students, and the graduation ceremony for the graduates this year.
