Guangdong University of Science and Technology (GUST) held a symposium on the training of young teachers for the relevant school staff who are in charge of the training work of young teachers at 512 meeting room of the Administration Building of Nancheng Campus of GUST on the afternoon of May 24, 2020. GUST’s President Liang Ruixiong, Executive Vice President Zhou Er’yong, school staff who are in charge of the school’s secondary colleges and relevant departments participated in the meeting, which was presided over by Vice President Li Cai.
At the symposium, Deputy Director of the Center of Teachers’ Development Zeng Xianghui made a report on the training work of young teachers, Dean of the College of Finance and Economics Jiang Hongxia together with the Deputy Dean of the College of Foreign Languages Chen Yanchun shared their experience on the training work of young teachers. School staff who are in charge of the training work of young teachers of the College of Management as well as the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering introduced the work completed in the training of young teachers respectively and also put forward some relevant suggestions.
President Liang Ruixiong delivered a speech, in which he pointed out that the talent is the most significant resource for the university, and the team construction is the key point of the university’s annual work as well as the eternal development theme for the university. The training of young teachers needs to be strengthened from four aspects. President Liang emphasized that all departments should be guided correctly in the training of young teachers by combining the training with self-study, competitions of teachers’ teaching ability with learning, and training with relevant mechanism of evaluation.
