In order to give play to the role of the Student Union as a link between students and the school, strengthen the sense of responsibility of student organizations, and promote innovative development, the 4th Student Congress of GUST was officially held in the lecture hall on the 7th floor of the library of the Nancheng campus of GUST on the morning of Nov 14, 2020.
At the beginning of the meeting, everyone stood up and sang the national anthem. The leaders and guests attending the Student Congress were: Chen Biaoxin, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee and Vice President of GUST, Wang Hongwu, Director of the Student Office, Li Henan, Secretary of the School Youth League Committee and Deputy Director of the Student Office, Li Jiancai, Deputy Director of the Student Office, Jiang Mingjun, Director of the Guidance Center of Entrepreneurship, Ye Zi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Dean of the College of Finance and Economics, Jian Tian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Dean of the College of Management, Chen Zhihui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Dean of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Ma Chengxiang, Secretary of the Party Branch and Deputy Dean of the College of Art and Design, as well as the party branch secretaries, academic assistants, and league instructors of the students.
Then, Chen Biaoxin, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee and Vice President of GUST, delivered a speech. First of all, Vice President Chen Biaoxin expressed his wishes to the student cadres of the Youth League Committee and put forward his hope to all student representatives: we must play a role of benchmarking and demonstration, and constantly improve personal qualities and capabilities by establishing lofty ideals as well as firm beliefs, and building up confidence so that to improve competitiveness and independent development capabilities.
Based on the principle of fairness and openness, the conference elected the presidium members of the 4th Student Union by way of elections of 7 and 5. Through the first meeting of the Presidium of the 4th Student Congress, the host Guo Yide announced the results of the election. The elected members of the Presidium of the 4th Student Union are: Li Bing, Lai Xiumei, Lin Zuhe, Yang Jinping, Zhang Xiaojing.
The 4th Student Congress of GUST came to a successful conclusion with the singing of the school song.
