Professor Zhai Dongsheng from Renmin University of China was invited to GUST to give a lecture on the Fifth Session of the Nanbo Education Forum on the afternoon of Apr. 16. The main venue of the forum was set in the Academic Lecture Hall on the 7th floor of the library at Nancheng Campus, and separate venues for simultaneous live broadcasts of the forum were set at two campuses of GUST. More than 1,000 teachers and students from university and colleges of the Nanbo Group attended the forum. Liu Dongfeng, Chairman of the Nanbo Group, Liang Ruixiong, President of GUST, and Wu Nianxiang, Secretary of the School Party Committee of GUST attended the event, which was presided over by Zhou Er’yong, Executive Vice President of GUST and Dean of the Nanbo Research Institute.
Professor Zhai Dongsheng, a well-known expert on foreign economic relations and a scholar of international politics and economy in China, has unique and profound insights into China's economic development and domestic and foreign situations. He has also been invited to give lectures and attend seminars in famous academic institutions all over the country throughout the year and has been consulted by the government on suggestions on national political and economic strategies. The combination of macro and micro insights of Professor Zhai, and his humorous speech style were widely acclaimed by teachers and students present at the forum.
After his lecture, in the warm applause of the audience, Professor Zhai thanked everyone, and the Fifth Session of the Nanbo Education Forum came to a successful conclusion. The Nanbo Education Forum hosted by the Nanbo Research Institute has invited heavyweight experts as well as scholars to give lectures in Dongguan since 2018; experts who were invited to the previous forum include Zhong Binglin, Huang Daren, Yu Zhongwen, Ma Shuchao and Jin Canrong. In the future, the Forum will continue to invite distinguished experts and scholars in various academic fields to provide cadres, teachers and students of the Nanbo Group with high-level and high-quality lectures and learning opportunities.
