GUST’s 5th Badminton Mixed Team Competition of the teaching and administrative staff, sponsored by the school’s Labor Union and undertaken by the College of Public Courses, came to a successful conclusion on May 21. Bi Huidong, a member of the school’s Party Committee, assistant to the president of GUST, and Vice Chairman of the school’s Labor Union, and Wang Hongwu, Vice Chairman of the school’s Labor Union and director of the Department of Student Affairs, attended the closing ceremony of the competition.
60 teaching and administrative staff from 8 branch unions of the school’s Labor Union performed excellently in the competition. After fierce competition, the branch union of the College of Computer Science won the championship, the branch union of the College of Public Courses and the branch union of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering won the runner-up and the third. Badminton has always been favored by the teaching and administrative staff of our school, and the attention paid to the school’s badminton competition has increased for the reason that the overall competitive level of badminton of GUST enjoys fast development.
In this year’s badminton competition, the players cooperated in tacit understanding, and the alternately rising scores always touched the hearts of the audience. With the strong support of the audience, each contestant was high-spirited and showed his/her will as well as the level of the competition, fully demonstrating the optimistic and enterprising spirit of the faculty staff of GUST.
