According to the "Notice of the Academic Degrees Committee Office under Guangdong Province on Adjusting the Construction Units of Doctoral and Master’s Degree Awarding of Guangdong Province" (Notice on the Academic Degrees of Guangdong Province[2021] No. 3) issued by the Academic Degrees Committee Office under Guangdong Province of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province on May 25, the project construction of master’s degree awarding of GUST has been approved, which is a brand-new starting point for the academic development of the school. A total of 20 colleges/universities in Guangdong Province have been involve in the Notice, and for the first time, a private college/university in the province, i.e. GUST, has been included in this list.
In recent years, GUST has been continuing to increase its investment in running the school; the construction of the teaching faculty has achieved remarkable results; the quality of talent training has also seen steady progress; the discipline construction has made fruitful achievements. GUST will strive to meet the requirements of the master's degree awarding unit as soon as possible, and make solid progress towards becoming a high-level applied innovation university.
