On the afternoon of September 27, the opening ceremony of the 4th Dongguan Science and Technology Innovation Festival for College Students, sponsored by Dongguan Education Bureau, Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau, Dongguan Human Resources Bureau and Dongguan City Committee of the Communist Youth League and co-hosted by Guangdong University of Science and Technology（GUST）, was held.
The launching ceremony started with the magnificent national songs.All the participants reviewed the previous three Science and Technology Innovation Festivals by watching the exquisite propaganda films, and entered the Fourth Dongguan Science and Technology Innovation Festival for University Students. Then, GUST president, HUANG Tao and the City's Deputy Mayor, YU lijun, gave a speech in the ceremony respectively.
In YU’s speech, she mentioned that Dongguan would actively participate in the construction of the GuangZhou-ShenZhen science and technology innovation corridor and accelerate its progress towards becoming an innovative first-class city.The development of Dongguan city to build the Guang-Shen science and technology innovation corridor Dongguan segment needs a lot of creation to erupt in competition and expect more innovative talents to emerge continuously.
President HUANG Tao said in his speech that GUST has always attached great importance to science and technology innovation education, promoting students’ technical skills. In order to fulfil the commitment of providing creative scientific and technological service to the public, the school must fully participate in and assist the relevant departments and other brother colleges.
The theme of this Dongguan Science and Technology Innovation Festival for University Students is "Science and Technology + Innovation Build the Chinese Dream Together". There are 10 first, second and third prizes in this competition. The bonus of the first prize is up to 100,000 yuan.The innovation skills competition is composed of five items, including Sand-Simulation Competition for the Business Operation, Biochemical Experiment Skills Competition, Designing Competition for Mobile Application, Chinese Character Dictation Competition, and Design and Production Competition for Green Cars.
