The Songshan Lake Campus（SSL Campus）of Guangdong University of Science and Technology (GUST) has made new progress recently.The SSL Campus, located in Wenhui Road, Songshan Lake, is covering an area of 800 acres.At present, the construction of 10 teaching buildings, training buildings, dormitory buildings and dining hall is accelerating, and will be finished next September.
The SSL campus is functioning with " Education+Innovation+Think Tank Communication". Giving priority to specific majors,such as engineering, science, art and design, in order to cultivate skillful workers to meet the Labor shortage in Dongguan. The SSL campus is divided into four major areas based on their function:Education Area,Innovation Area, Think-tank Area and International Education Area.
According to the plan,the College of Management, College of Finance and Economics, College of Foreign Languages and College of Continuing Education will stay in Nancheng campus . Other departments and some administrative departments will move to the new campus.

After the completion of SSL campus, 11 student dormitories can accommodate more than 22,000 students.
1. By August 2019, the first period of the project will be completed, with a total capacity of more than 4000 students,a gymnasium and a sports venue.
2. By August 2020, the second period of the project will be completed, with a total capacity of more than 5,600 people, as well as the sports venues and ancillary residential.
3. By August 2021, the third period of the project will be completed, the construction of libraries,administrative buildings, as well as student dormitories and student cafeterias required will be finished.
4. The whole project of the new campus will be completed in five years.
