From November 30 to December 2, the 2018 Guangdong University Students Track and Field Championship was held in South China University of Technology. After three days of fierce competition, the men's track and field team of Guangdong University of Science and Technology (GUST) won three individual GOLD MEDALS, three SILVER MEDALS and the fourth place in the 4*400 meters in group.With a total score of 58, the men's team ranks the second place in the men's group among colleges and universities in the province.
GUST won the seventh place in the group, and it was the only private university to win the top eight. It was also the one with the lowest number of participants and projects, but the one has won the highest number of GOLD and SILVER MEDALS since the establishment of the university, breaking the record. LI Jin, CAI Feng and WANG Lei, teachers from the Department of the Public Basic Course , were awarded as "Excellent Coaches" of the 2018 Guangdong University Students Track and Field Championships.
