Recently, the Academy of Science and Education Evaluation of China released the "2018 Scientific Research Competitiveness Evaluation Report of Chinese Private and Independent Colleges and Universities(Hereinafter referred to as "report"). Guangdong University of Science and Technology (GUST) ranked the 19th, the first one of Guangdong Province, and it was the only private college coming from Guangdong Province.
The objects of the report includes 153 private colleges and 261 independent colleges (not including the Xian Jiaotong Liverpool University and other 6 universities cooperatively run by China and other countries), the evaluation index system covers the first level indicators: paper, subjects, patents, and awards as well as the second level indicators: CSSCI, SCI papers, national social science, national nature, subjects of the Ministry of Education, invention patent.
