The name list of winners of the 2022 Mathematical Contest in Modeling and Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM) has been announced recently and two teams of GUST won the Honorable Mention and 4 teams won the Successful Participant.
MCM/ICM is held by the Consortium for Mathematics and Its Application (COMAP), an award-winning non-profit organization whose mission is to improve mathematics education for students of all ages. More than 28,000 teams from universities in China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Canada, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries and regions participated in the competition this year.
A group of professional instructors from the College of Public Courses selected and trained six teams of students to participate in the contest. After fierce competition, the team of Zhai Jianwei, Huang Fenfen and Luo Ying, and the team of Pan Xuefeng, Lin Yuchao and Cai Xiangfan won the Honorable Mention (the Second Prize); the team of Wu Guanlin, Zhu Guanlong and Liang Jiahui, the team of Deng Wenman, Xiang Xiaoqian and Wu Jingwei, the team of Li Yuanchi, Wang Zehang and He Weimei and the team of Zhong Wenbo, Chen Jiying and Huang Jiaqing won the Successful Participant (the Third Prize).
