This year, the total number of college graduates will reach 10.76 million, a record high with an increase of 1.67 million year-on-year. The current employment situation for college graduates is still severe and complicated, affected by factors such as economic development and the pandemic.
In March, GUST sent invitations to enterprises based in Dongguan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other cities through Bosiyun, its self-built service platform of internship and employment. In March and April, school leaders have visited a number of enterprises and spare no effort to tap more job opportunities for graduates and recommend outstanding graduates to employers.
Since April, Secretary of the school party committee Wu Nianxiang, President of GUST Liang Ruixiong, together with other school leaders have taken the lead in promoting comprehensive school-enterprise cooperation by introducing the university to companies personally, discussed with them in depth on the project construction of industry-school-research cooperation, thus opening up more jobs and opportunities for graduates. As of May 23, leaders of the school have visited a total of 41 enterprises, signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with 19 enterprises as well as institutions of the public sector, and successfully expanded more than 850 positions.
