On the morning of February 16, GUST held the 2023 Spring Semester staff assembly. President Liang Ruixiong, Party Secretary Wu Nianxiang, Executive Vice President Tueshi Yong, Vice presidents Liu Zhiyang, Chen Bianxin, Sun Jian, Li Cai, Zhao Huihua, Bi Huidong, Assistant President Wang Hongwu and all the staff attended the meeting. This conference was held at the same time in the dual campus, while the main venue was set up in the lecture Hall 5-102 of Songshan Lake Campus, and there were 11 sub-venues in total. The conference was chaired by Vice President Wu Liping.
First of all, President Liang made a comprehensive summary and review of the school's work in 2022 from 10 aspects, including connotation construction of the school, guidance of the Party building, safe campus construction, examination and evaluation of the application for master's degree, teaching and research, collaborative education, enrollment and employment. He said that the major achievements made in the past year are the embodiment of the wisdom and painstaking efforts of all Guangke people. On behalf of the school, he would like to express his heartfelt thanks to all the staff for their hard work in the past year. At the same time, in view of the problems existing in the work, President Liang put forward six "deficiencies", namely, the lack of internalization of top-level design, of implementation of system plans , of effectiveness of characteristic cultivation, of depth of grassroots research, of detailed way of work, and of formation of work forces. And he further emphasized that all the staff should clearly recognize the above six aspects of the problem and continue to improve in the future work.
In the 2023 work plan, President Liang focused on the overall work objectives of "security work to ensure stability, enrollment work to stabilize the scale, employment work to improve, professional construction to further, characteristic education to show results, review and evaluation to accelerate, master's degree construction to achieve key breakthroughs", and stressed the efforts on the following six aspects, namely, the characteristic education, the introduction and cultivation of leaders, the landmark achievement, the evaluation and application of master work, the reduction of costs to maintain the goals, and the construction of digital campus.
President Liang stressed that 2023 is the "quality" year of the school, and it is also the key year for the school to fully implement the "14th Five-Year Plan", deepen the connotation construction, build the characteristic brand, and promote the high-quality development. President Liang sent a message to all the staff that in order to realize the long-term, stable and healthy development of GUST and achieve the vision of "building a century-old university", we must be firm in the right direction and build a well-known brand. He hoped that all the staff will continue to follow the grand dream of "building a century-old university and educating industrial elites", seize opportunities and work together to overcome difficulties and push forward the development of the school.
At the end of the meeting, Vice President Wu Liping made five plans on the key work related to the new semester, namely, strengthening the campus security management, making arrangements for students to return to school, and for teaching tasks, strengthening the awareness of discipline rules, and making good work planning for the new semester, so as to ensure the steady progress of all work.
After the conference, each department held a new semester staff meeting, learning to understand the spirit of the principal's work report, and around this year's main work objectives, they make arrangements for the work of the new semester. The staff said that the achievements of the past year have encouraged us to forge ahead. In the new semester, we should continue to work, with a high sense of responsibility and full of energy, and make due contributions to the construction and development of the school.
