GUST was awarded as top 10 Enterprises for fixed Asset Investment in Dongguan Songshan Lake in 2022, which was the second consecutive year that our school has won this honorary title.
It is reported that the conference recognized a total of 12 honors, including "Annual Outstanding economic contribution enterprises in the Park", "Annual Top 10 enterprises in fixed asset Investment in the Park", "Annual advanced scientific research Institution in the Park" and "Annual Advanced Unit of newly introduced talents in the Park". In recent years, GUST aims to cultivate high-quality applied talents for local economic and social development. By taking full advantage of its location in the core hinterland of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, GUST has carried out the layout of disciplines according to the key industries in the economic and social development of Dongguan, focusing on the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, and making great efforts to improve the school’s conditions and to accelerate the upgrading of the school’s level. Since the start of the construction of Songshan Lake Campus, the infrastructure construction Center strictly abides by the national laws and regulations related to construction safety, and supervises the construction units to earnestly implement the specific requirements of the industry authorities related to safety work, and successfully completes the annual construction tasks.
In 2022, the total construction area of Songshan Lake Campus has been 212,200 square meters, with an investment of 680 million yuan, including 3 student dormitories, 2 faculty dormitories and 1 canteen, with a total construction area of 91,000 square meters. More than 29 million yuan has been invested in improving experimental and training conditions. 26 new laboratories, 52 multimedia classrooms and 19 smart classrooms are under construction, with a net increase of 20.26 million yuan in the value of teaching equipment. More than 240,000 books are purchased, and the total number of paper books has reached 2,692,300. The basic supporting facilities of the school have been improved, and the conditions for the school have been further optimized.
In 2023, the University will base on the new starting point and focus on "technological innovation + advanced manufacture" in Dongguan to continuously improve the level of infrastructure construction and accelerate the construction of Songshan Lake campus, which will provide solid support for the university to realize the development goal of "high-level applied innovative university" and the school vision of "creating a century-old university and educating industrial elites", and further to promote the high quality development of Dongguan and even Guangdong.
