(Party Work Department) To celebrate the 98th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the People's Republic of China, Chorus Competition of school anthem and commendation conference of July 1st was held on the evening of June 25th in gymnasium. Advanced units as well as individuals of the academic year of 2018-2019 were praised at the conference. Seven chorus teams from different colleges participated in the chorus competition and expressed their deep feelings towards Guangdong University of Forestry and Technology (GUST).

Liang Ruixiong, President of GUST as well as Secretary of the party, Chen Biaoxin, Vice President of GUST and Deputy Secretary of the party, Li Cai, Vice President of GUST, Wang Yanbin and Zhao Huihua, members of the party and Vice Presidents of GUST, Bi Huidong, a member of the party and Minister of Department of Party Affairs, Liu Woye, Dean of College of Management, Jiang Hongxia, Dean of College of Finance and Economics, secretaries of primary-level party organizations and heads of colleges of GUST attended the competition and conference.

At the beginning of the conference, President and Secretary of the Party Liang Ruixiong delivered a speech, extended greetings of the festival and expressed his appreciation of school staff who have been working hard to contribute to the development of GUST. He also extended his congratulations to units and individuals that had been praised. He pointed out that GUST will be a more modernized institution of higher education with two campuses and a large area. He hoped that all teachers and students of GUST will keep in mind of the traditional culture of CPC and work hard so as to achieve the goal of "building GUST as the most well-known and influential nongovernmental university of technology and science of the whole country in 2026 ". In closing, he wished the chorus competition a full success.
