About the University of Wollongong
The University of Wollongong (UOW) was founded in 1951, and is located in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. UOW is a comprehensive public university, one of Australia’s top ten research institutions, and ranks among the top 2% in the world, and top 50 in the Asia-Pacific region. It is also rated a 5 Star university in Australia with its Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences listed in the prestigious Group of Eight.
Program introduction
UOW’s UOW College Australia specializes in providing English language courses for students to acquire and practice their language skills in an interactive language environment, including short trips.
Students of GUST can apply for a 2 week/4 week English language training course at UOW during the summer and winter vacations, and stay with local families in Wollongong to comprehensively improve the English language skills for everyday life, work and leisure.
The course is divided into five levels for students to choose from after a language test to decide on appropriate modules for individual participant. Each module of the five levels includes intensive training in listening, reading, writing and speaking to improve their overall English language skills.
Program cost: RMB 15,000/2 weeks

The fee includes:
1. 20 hours of English courses per week, with additional tutoring and grammar classes;
2. Homestay accommodation;
3. Self-selecting extracurricular activities (transportation expense is borne by participants for some activities);
4. Visa fee and free visa processing services;
5. Accident insurance cost during the trip;
6. Free pick-up from Sydney Airport;
7. Pre-departure safety training.
The fee does not include:
1. Flight tickets;
2. Lunch on working days (students dine in the school cafeteria);
3. Other personal expenses.
