The cooperation agreement signing ceremony between GUST and Kyoto Seizan College in Japan was held in the lecture hall of 5-101 at Nancheng Campus on the afternoon of October 30. President of GUST Liang Ruixiong and President of Kyoto Seizan College signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of the two universities to officially start a new chapter of exchange and cooperation between the two universities. President of Kyoto Seizan College, Guo Xin, Director of the International Exchange Center of Kyoto Seizan College, Bi Haitao, Director of the Chinese Office of Kyoto Seizan College, President of GUST Liang Ruixiong, Vice President of GUST Liu Zhiyang, Vice President of GUST Li Cai, Chen Yanchun, Deputy Dean of College of Foreign Languages of GUST, Huang Shuiping, Deputy Dean of College of International Education of GUST, and nearly 200 teachers as well as students attended and witnessed the signing ceremony which was presided over by Vice President of GUST Li Cai.
At the beginning of the ceremony, President Liang Ruixiong delivered a speech. He extended his warm welcome to the arrival of President of Kyoto Seizan College and his colleagues, and made a brief introduction on GUST and its exchange and cooperation with excellent colleges and universities at home and abroad, and said that the cooperation between GUST and Kyoto Seizan College will certainly promote the discipline construction of GUST’s Japanese major and upgrade the quality of talents in Japanese major with international perspective, thus promoting the long-term development of cooperation with Kyoto Seizan College.
Then the President of Kyoto Seizan College made a speech. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the warm welcome from GUST, and made a brief introduction on Kyoto Seizan College and said that he has great confidence in the cooperation between the two universities in Japanese program and hopes that the two universities will develop a long-term cooperation with mutual trust and win-win progress.
After the speech, the two Presidents of GUST and Kyoto Seizan College signed the "Framework Agreement for Cooperation Between Guangdong University of Science and Technology and Kyoto Seizan College". Then the leaders of the two schools took a group photo and exchanged commemorative gifts.

After the ceremony, President of Kyoto Seizan College was invited to be the judge in the third Japanese Speech Contest organized by the College of Foreign Languages of GUST. In this competition, 12 players were selected into the final competition after competing in the preliminary contest. They competed in the proposition speech and impromptu speech, and then the judges scored together. The Japanese majors of our school, confident and enthusiastic, participated in the speech contest with good command over Japanese, which shows the high quality level of students in GUST.
President of Kyoto Seizan College fully affirmed the performance of students participating in the competition and expressed his appreciation for the achievements obtained by the Japanese majors in our school. He encouraged Japanese majors to make persistent efforts to learn Japanese to the most. He then wrote on the certificates for the winners and took photos with competitors as well as their instructors.

It is known that Kyoto Seizan College, founded in 1280, is located in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is a well-known institution of higher learning with a history of more than 700 years. It established the Japanese language specialization project in 2008 and actively promoted the establishment of a friendly and cooperative city relationship with Qingdao, China, and made an outstanding contribution in promoting Sino-Japanese exchange and cooperation.
