There are 9 administrative departments and 11colleges in GUST.
1. 党政办公室 Office of the Party and Administrative Affairs: In charge of affairs related to the Party and administration, propaganda, campus cultural construction, campus logistics and archives management.
2. 人事处 Department of Human Resources: In charge of personnel management, financial affairs and labor union affairs.
3. 学生处（团委） Department of Student Affairs（Party Committee）: In charge of the management of student cultivation, Party committee, ideological and political education, student loans and psychological health.
4. 保卫处（武装部） Department of Security（Armed Forces）: In charge of the campus security and the management of armed forces.
5. 教务处 Department of Academic Affairs: In charge of teaching affairs, the development of teachers, practice and modern teaching technologies, as well as the construction of information.
6. 评建办公室和质量监控中心 Office of Evaluation and Quality Monitoring: In charge of academic evaluation, research development and monitoring of teaching quality.
7. 科研处 Department of Academic Research: In charge of affairs of academic research and exchanges, etc..
8. 图书馆 Library: In charge of the management of books.
9. 招生办公室 Office of Admission: In charge of student enrolment.
