The College of Foreign Languages (CFL) was founded in 2003 and owns highly-educated teaching staff. CFL opens 4 undergraduate programs, namely English, Business English, Translation and Japanese and 1 specialized program, namely Business English. CFL has 24 professional training centers, including a simultaneous interpretation training center and a computer-assisted translation training center.
CFL has established a sound school-enterprise partnership with the Alliance of Dongguan Internet Business consisting of 570 companies, the Dongguan Industry and Association of Trade Development Promotion consisting of 1,000 companies and the Center of Dongguan Translation Service, which guarantees students with internships and employment. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 98% for several years. From 2011 to 2019, the faculty staff participated in 18 projects at provincial or above level as well as 62 on-campus projects, published 632 papers, 3 monographs and 15 textbooks.
287 students have won awards in professional competitions, of which 45 have won national awards, 179 have won provincial awards, and 63 have won municipal awards. Of the 2015-2018 undergraduate graduates, 63 students were admitted to well-known universities at home and abroad, and continued to study for postgraduate certificates. The well-known foreign universities include the University of Edinburgh, the University of Liverpool, the University of Sydney, the University of Melbourne, Monash University in Australia, George Fox University in the United States, etc. The well-known universities at home include Heilongjiang University, Guizhou Minzu University, South-central University For Nationalities, Guangzhou University, etc.
